GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR ACCOMMODATION
To make your stay as pleasant as possible, we kindly request your cooperation in observing the following:
1. Non-Smoking
• We are a non-smoking establishment. Smoking is strictly forbidden in the rooms.
• Penalty for smoking in a room: R500.
• Please use the designated smoking area.
2. Check-Out
• Check-out time is strictly 10h00 unless arranged with Management in advance or at check-in.
3. Braai / BBQ
• Available for your convenience – please arrange with Management in advance.
• Guests must supply their own wood; we provide cutlery and crockery.
• Quiet time: guests are expected to start settling down by 21h30, quiet by 22h00.
4. Keys & Access
• You have 24-hour access to the house and your room using the keys provided at check-in.
• Guests are fully responsible for these keys. Lost or damaged keys will be charged R400 per set.
5. Extra Light
• Extra lights in the room are provided in case of load shedding.
• These lights are for use in the room only and must not be removed.
6. Guests & Visitors
• Only booked guests may sleep on the premises.
• Extra guests incur additional charges.
• Visitors, other than staying guests, are not allowed after 22h00 without prior arrangement.
7. Meals & Parking
• Breakfast is available for staying guests only.
• Please park in your designated parking area. Cars are parked at owners’ risk.
8. Liability
• The Guesthouse, its directors, officers, employees, representatives, or agents do not accept liability for any loss, damage, or injury (direct, indirect, consequential, or otherwise) to guests, their party, vehicles, or possessions.
9. Forgotten Items
• We are happy to return items left behind. A minimum charge will apply for postage and packaging.
10. Personal Data
• Some personal data collected during booking may be held on file or computer.
• Data is kept strictly private and confidential according to the POPI Act.
• Guests consent to the collecting, processing, and storing of their personal information for accommodation purposes.

11. Care of Property
• Guests are responsible for any breakages or damages to the accommodation or its contents.
• We reserve the right to charge for any damage, loss, or missing items during your stay.
12. Dinner / Lunch Boxes
• If not booked in advance, please give notice at least one day prior to allow arrangements.
13. Laundry Service
• Iron and ironing board available on request.
• Laundry is washed on a normal water cycle and heat-dried; we cannot be responsible for normal wear, fading, loss of buttons, holes, or abrasions.
14. Conduct
• Villa Marais Guesthouse reserves the right to terminate a stay without notice or refund for unacceptable behavior or actions likely to endanger, offend, or disturb others.
• Please always consider other guests occupying the house.
